Signature
Verification
Aperta image-based applications can be
integrated with the SoftPro signature verification package,
SignBASE, to enable either image-assisted visual signature
verification or automatic signature verification.
Aperta’s Signature Verification System
stores all the authorised signatures for a particular account
as digital images. If used in conjunction with branch capture,
when a check is presented from that account it automatically
presents the teller with images of the authorised signatures.
The teller can then compare the signature(s) on the check
to see if they are the same as one or all of the authorised
signatories. The system can also store "rules"
for each of the authorised signatories. These rules determine
whether the signatory can sign by himself, or whether the
check has to be signed by more than one person, and up to
what amount can be authorised by each person.
Signatures are verified by having a teller
make a judgement as to whether the signature on the check
corresponds to that in the database, and that the correct
authority is in place for that signatory. |
