Active Document Processing System - ADPS
(In the USA ADPS is known as RPA in
the Remittance marketplace, and PTA in Banking)
The Aperta Active Document Processing System
provides maximum benefit from transport based operations
such as read and key and can be used for processing deposits
or remittances quickly and easily. ADPS encodes and balances
debit and credit transactions, captures data for account
posting, endorses and sorts documents for subsequent distribution.
ADPS can microfilm documents for archive
and research or capture electronic images of documents and
store them for research or use by one or more of the image-enhanced
distribution applications such as Active-image
Statements.
During the ADPS process, item data can
be read from documents, key-entered by operators, or derived
from information read from files provided by external systems.
The data is captured and used for reports and can be extracted
for use by external systems such as an accounting host.
Documents can be encoded, endorsed, microfilmed, and pocketed
according to criteria you define and customize. The system
can be optionally image-enabled to provide for the capture,
storage and long-term archive of document images using Active
Image Archive. By image-enabling the system,
the opportunity to incorporate the image-enhanced “Active”
processes and products is presented.
ADPS controls the physical processing of
documents, the capture of information from the document
scan line, the generation of reports and the extraction
and formatting of information.
When ADPS is used in a network of transports
it incorporates the Active System Manager subsystem. The
Active System Manager provides consolidation of data from
multiple transports for reports and data communication,
centralized control of parameter files, and item processing.
Alternatively, ADPS can be used in an environment of one
or more independent, stand-alone transports.
The benefits of ADPS are:
- Operates within industry standard Windows® operating
systems, with graphical user interfaces familiar to
operators, reducing the time taken to learn the system.
- ADPS allows the operator to use the keyboard or the
mouse to enter data and select options from on-screen
menus.
- “One-touch” function keys can activate
document-processing functions. In addition to pre-set
function keys, other keys can be defined to suit specific
customer needs, making operation quick and easy for
the operator.
- ADPS can be protected from unauthorized users, with
passwords to restrict access and grant privileges to
specific users.
- On-screen displays allow work sessions to be monitored,
providing valuable management information on current
activities of operators, processing totals and batch
status for example.
- An audit trail logs all operator actions, again providing
valuable management information on the operation of
the system.
- Compatible with Aperta's other applications such as
AiA, AiS, exception processing, AiF
